Caitlín R. Kiernan

Caitlín R. Kiernan (b. May 26, 1964) is an Irish-born author of dark fantasy and science fiction, currently living in Rhode Island with her partner Kathryn A. Pollnac. She studied geology and paleontology prior to beginning a career in writing, and has published a number of scientific papers in addition to her prolific work in short fiction, novels, and comics. She is renowned for her Gothic, poetic, and dreamlike style, and is often considered a spiritual successor to H. P. Lovecraft.

Since 2005, she has also been publishing Sirenia Digest, a monthly, by-subscription e-zine of vignettes melding dark fantasy, sci-fi, and erotica.
