Jim Butcher

Jim Butcher is a Missouri-based author best known for his hit urban fantasy series, The Dresden Files (a.k.a. Emera’s crack in book form), featuring wizard detective Harry Dresden, nerdy wisecracks, and a varied bestiary of faeries, werewolves, vampires,  fallen angels, and a grab bag of other mythological creatures. The Dresden Files were first written as an assignment for a writing class, and the first novel was eventually sold through Laurell K. Hamilton’s literary agent. There are currently 20 novels planned for the Dresden Files.

Butcher has also completed a sword-and-sorcery fantasy series, the Codex Alera, and confesses that epic fantasy is his first love in reading and writing.
