John Ajvide Lindqvist (born 1968) is a Swedish novelist and former magician and stand-up comedian. He has written two horror novels, the international bestselling vampire novel Let the Right One In (2004), adapted into 2008 into an equally acclaimed film, and the zombie novel Handling the Undead (2005). In 2006, he also released a collection of his short stories, Pappersväggar. His novels are both set in the decaying Swedish suburbs where he grew up, and deal with themes of broken families.
